Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and communicate with confidence. Plano ISDs ESL program provides language support that helps multilingual learners succeed in the classroom while building strong English language skills.
English as a Second Language (ESL) provides language support that helps students develop English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills while participating in grade-level instruction.

Who Qualifies?
- Students complete a Home Language Survey during enrollment.
- Students who qualify are assessed.
- Placement is based on state requirements.
- Parents are informed and involved in the placement process.
