Counselor

Amber Evans

My name is Amber Jean Evans, and I’m serving as the Long-Term Substitute Counselor here at Harrington. I have a B.M. in Music Education from Millikin University, an M.S. in School Counseling from the University of North Texas, and am a certified School Counselor (EC–12) in the state of Texas.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent 13 years as a middle school choir director in Plano ISD and completed my school counseling internship at Armstrong Middle School. I prioritize helping students develop a sense of autonomy and inner strength, adapting my approach to meet each child’s needs while empowering them with skills and confidence to overcome obstacles. I especially enjoy teaching relationship skills and supporting students as they learn to navigate friendships and emotions.

After many years in middle school, I love the authenticity and openness of elementary students. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to make a positive impact on their growth and development. I currently live in Princeton with my husband where I enjoy logic puzzles (Kakuro is my favorite!), cooking, and practicing yoga.
